Not all landscaping companies are capable of taking care of everything you may need to be done in your yard. However, if you have a more involved setting, you need to be choosier if you want to keep everything working and looking good. Here are a few tasks you will want to make sure the company you hire is capable of doing.
Wire Repair
When you have lights, fountains, or electric outlets in the yard, there is going to be wiring. Unless you are going to have poles to hang the wire on, everything will be underground. While it might be easier to access on poles, it doesn't look as nice and neat. The landscape company should have some knowledge or electrical and wiring work. They should be able to install new wire if necessary and also to dig up and repair existing wires if there is a problem.

Anything that is planted is going to need to be watered. You may enjoy hooking up a hose and spending time walking around the yard making sure everything is adequately watered. However, if you miss a day, for whatever reason, it can take a toll on the plants. Talk with the landscape professional to discuss what type of watering system you need and then make sure they can provide installation and maintenance to it. You can always do a bit of watering on your own, but with an automatic system, you are able to sit and enjoy your yard while relaxing.
Soil Preparation
Not all plants do well in all kinds of soil. It is likely there will be a flower or bush that you want to have in the yard that is not completely compatible with your soil. A good landscape professional will have the soil tested and know how to amend it for what you want. This may mean that different additions will need to go in different areas of your property.
Take the time to meet with the owner/manager of the landscape company to explain exactly what it is you have currently and what additions or changes you may want in the future. You should be able to work together to create the yard and gardens you want. Trees, bushes, flowers, and grass, in addition to what is required to keep them all healthy need to be taken into consideration.
