Shopping for Artificial Grass for Your Business? 3 Things to Look For

Posted on: 26 February 2020

When you manage a business, you are often too busy to worry about things like landscaping. On the other hand, without a well-landscaped lot, you may worry about how your company appears to clients and customers. Incorporating easy-to-care-for products like artificial grass can help you to create the look you want without adding any extra chores. Here are three features to look at when choosing artificial turfgrass.

1. Pile Height

The higher the pile, the more significantly it will cover up any height imperfections in the ground. Look for commercial turfgrass that is tall enough to cover the small peaks and valleys that may be present in your landscaping, and be mindful of the fact that taller varieties tend to cost more than other options.

Additionally, remember that a tall pile should maintain an average hight rather than each blade of grass being the same length. In real turf, grass blades are a variety of heights, even after a fresh mowing, since there are always new blades of grass growing. To determine which height looks best, try to step back a little to compare varieties.

2. Realism

Oftentimes, people look for turfgrass that looks perfect. However, in real life, grass is far from perfect and may contain dead grass blades incorporated with long, lush, healthy areas. Grass may also have a jagged cut edge from the mower, and a taper around areas that have been trimmed properly. When you shop for turfgrass, look for turf that doesn't look perfect. Instead, look for grass that looks like real grass. To make shopping easier, take a few up-close pictures of lawns so you can compare the real thing to artificial varieties.

3. Longevity

Every variety of artificial turf has a lifespan, so think of how long you would need that grass to last. Think about how long your commercial lease is on the property and your landscaping budget for now and the future. Select turf that you can afford, but that will last long enough for you to make it worth your while.

If commercial artificial grass sounds like something that would work for your landscaping plan, don't hesitate to reach out to companies that offer the service. In addition to exploring different varieties, check with the company to see whether or not they offer warranties on their products and installation discounts. By shopping carefully, you can find products that will work well for your company.
