It's Worth Visiting A Nursery To Buy Plants In Person

Posted on: 14 January 2022

These days, there are several different ways to buy plants for your landscape. You can call a landscaping company and have plants both delivered and planted. You can order plants online and have them delivered or dropped off. Or, you can visit a nursery in person and shop for plants. In a world where people are physically shopping less and less, visiting a nursery in person may not initially be your first choice of approach. But it may, in fact, be the best option for the following reasons.

You get to see what the plants look like before you buy them.

There are so many different plants to choose from. Even if you have an idea of what some of them look like, you probably can't picture every plant you're considering adding to your landscape. Constantly having to Google plants on your landscaping company's list gets time-consuming and annoying. At a nursery, however, you can browse the plants and see exactly what they all look like. You can then choose plants based on their looks, rather than choosing names and hoping you like the way the plant looks.

You can select plants that are in good health.

When you order plants to be delivered, there's no way to guarantee the health or condition of the ones you are sent. You may, for instance, receive a daisy plant with a few dead leaves. When you shop in the store, you can see the exact plant before you buy it. You can make sure it's in good health, and you can avoid buying specific plans whose health is not up to your standards.

On the flip side of this, if you're someone who is good at rehabbing suffering plants, you may be able to get a discount on damaged plants at the nursery and then bring them back into good health at home.

You can ask questions about care.

Every type of plant has different care requirements. When you shop in-person at a nursery, you can ask the employees questions about the plants' care. This not only ensures you select plants that you're able to care for, but it can also expand your knowledge of how to care for various plants. You can learn a lot and get better landscaping results just by talking to in-person nursery workers.

Today, there are more ways than ever before to buy plants. But the old standby — shopping in-person at a nursery — is still a good choice.
